It has been a couple of weeks since I made this “site,” live and I call it that because to me it really isn’t one quite yet. The goal is for it to become one- a place with significant content where people can read all about the explorations and connections that are my life. There are certainly some shenanigans and A LOT of eating and drinking thrown in there. However, I haven’t been posting. I eat, drink and see so many things every day that other people might find interesting or gross or something, but whatever it is, there is content there and I haven’t been able to bring myself to post on a regular basis. I had some brewsikes with my wonderful and driven and talented friend Lauren on Tuesday evening (ummm or afternoon), and I expressed my fears of writing to her and she was like just write! For someone who has her own blog, (well shared with her soon-to-be hubby Jake) called Red & Brown, as well as her own expanding business, I look to her as an example of someone who can decide they are going to do something and do it. When I told her about my most recent Fine & Raw experience, she said, ” just write three sentences. Post a picture and write three sentences.” But it is me so here are four pictures and perhaps a few more than three sentences….
All over this post you will see some snapshots of the newest Fine & Raw releases including the WHITE CANDY. A few months ago when I had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Daniel Sklaar (chocolate pioneer) and Ryann (chocolate cowgirl-I mean this in the BEST way), of Fine & Raw awesomeness, these are part of the team that make my chocolate dreams come true, they told me about this undercover, super secret experiment they were working on that was akin to white chocolate but not. White chocolate gets a bad rap among true chocolate connoisseurs such as myself. I mean some don’t even consider it chocolate. A few years back however, Askinoskie release a white chocolate bar that forever changed the white chocolate stereotype. I still found it to be too sweet, as I had to buy it to try one of course, but I can still respect it for really being proper white chocolate and deserving of that name. Now, WHITE CANDY is a play on white chocolate and in a category all of its own, hence its special name. There is coconut and lucuma and magic. It is like the best fudge you have ever had as perhaps my bars got a bit warm but they almost had a pliable texture to them that reminded me of fudge. I believe it is 100% raw, though most of the other new cowgirls are 50% raw & 50% roasted, so you get the benefits of that in a one 1oz bar of delight. Outside of flavor profile, I love the packaging and the design on the bar. No detail is missed with Fine & Raw and they do it in the most cool, spirited and unpretentious manner. I think the bar is first starting to hit the NYC & BK shelves so be on the look out or be like me and seek it out, as it is certainly worth doing so!
